Helpful Information:
Should I buy a Goldendoodle or a Springerdoodle?
This is a very good question to ask! We don't think you can
go wrong with either choice!
Goldendoodles and Springerdoodles are very similar. But the
following information may help you to make an educated
choice.
Depending upon the size you are seeking - Springerdoodles
are the smaller of the two breeds. Golden Retrievers range in
weight from 60-80 pounds where English Springer Spaniels
are closer to 35-45 pounds at maturity.
F1 Springerdoodles are consistently low/non shed coats.
Sometimes with the F1 Goldendoodle there is more
guesswork when trying to determine what type of coat the
adult dog may have and if they will truly be non-shed or
low-shed. This may be in part due to the fact that the English
Springer does not have the thick heavy shedding undercoat
of the purebred Golden Retriever. F1B Goldendoodles are
typically Non-Shed if you prefer the Goldendoodles. F1
Goldendoodles can have some variation but are typically
Low Shed.
There is no difference in energy level between the two
breeds. This is entirely dependant upon the individual puppy
and the two specific parents that were bred. Your best bet is
to explain to us the special attributes you are looking for in a
puppy as well as a little bit about your lifestyle and family
and we can do our best to help you not only choose the best
breed but also the best puppy from the litter! And you are
always welcome to set-up an appointment so that you can
come meet them in person as well!
Our Springerdoodles come in a wider range of colors and
coat patterns - cream, gold, red, black, chocolate, brindle and
phantom. We breed Goldendoodles that are typically many
shades of cream to dark gold or even red.
Both breeds may enjoy swimming, but alot of
Springerdoodles really LOVE it!
Both breeds are easy to train, shed less than the purebred
counterpart, are very loyal and are fantastic with children!
