Lakeshore Doodles is proud to be members of GANA which
stands for the Goldendoodle Association of North America.

We are often asked if Goldendoodles can be registered with the
AKC (American Kennel Club) and the answer is no. But even if
they were able to be registered with the AKC we would still
choose GANA because of their high level of breeding standards
that they hold their breeders to. AKC is simply an organization
that records the geneology of the dogs within its database. The
AKC will register dogs/puppies even if irresponsible breeders
are breeding with no health testing done at all.
GANA holds its members to strict guidelines for breeding
standards of practice as well as acquiring copies of all its
members health testing certificates for every dog in their
breeding program. Each breed has it's own set of required tests
for genetic health issues which must be submitted by the
breeder to GANA prior to any puppies being registered.
